A cute Stitch Mistress Toy Sewing Machine.  This little Stitch Mistress model #49 is from the 1940's.  The machine is hand operated by turning the handwheel to raise and lower the needle sewing with a chain stitch.  It is in pretty good condition with some rust and scuffs after 60+ years!  The wheel still makes the needle go up and down but the hook underneath doesn not engage to actually sew.

A really wonderful accent in your sewing room!!
