Large Boat Shuttle

This shuttle, also known as a "Flying Shuttle" was used in looms that moved the shuttle of yarn automatically rather than hand thrown.  Constructed of a hard wood and has metal tips on each end to protect the shuttle during the weaving process.  The Quill Bobbin with the yarn or thread fit into the body of the shuttle.  A beautiful piece of craftsmanship from days gone by in the needlecraft industry....a treasure to own and decorate your sewing room!
